SIDE DETAILS

Goa’uld

The Jaffa walk quickly through the halls of the great palace.  The information packet he carried was invaluable and must reach his leaders at once.  They had finally found the planet of beginning and everything about the prophecies was correct.

There were no places on the planet that would not support life.  The drone that had been sent out earlier sent back thousands of pictures and hundred of kilobytes of data.  If this information was correct the planet would provide enough information to keep the Goa’uld the dominate race in the galaxy for the next thousand years.  He hated that the drone was forced to ram the human UAV that was also gathering data, but such were the costs of such an extra-ordinary find.

The Jaffa smiled to himself.  If this was the planet that fulfilled all of the prophecies then he would soon be leading a grand army to take the planet and begin studying all of the life and technology that was there.  Deep within his own thoughts of how he would persecute such a great and glorious mission the Jaffa almost forgot where he was going.

The Jaffa stopped at an imensly tall set of double doors and waited while the tow jackal masked guards passed sensor rods over him, looking for any hidden weapons.  Two weeks ago two other guards had waived him into the room beyond without first checking him.  The Jaffa had the two immediately executed.  In these days anyone could be an enemy, no matter how trusted they were.

With the security check finished and his ID confirmed the Jaffa took a deep breath before entering the room.   As he walked in he was almost overwhelmed by the presence of so many system lords in one place.  They were all seated and looking intently at the Jaffa.  The Jaffa paused and took another deep breath.  This was going to be the defining moment in his life and he wanted to remember every detail about it.  Soon he would be on another world that would almost surely be covered in enemy troops.  This life would be behind him and all he would have are his memories.  Today was a day to be remembered.
